Sculpture
I am drawn to the history and latent energy of discarded metal and wood found along the banks of the River Thames and the north-eastern Kent coastline. Shaped by tidal movement and erosion, these materials are transformed from their original forms, bearing surfaces marked by time, use, and environment.
Rather than focusing on original function, I am interested in patina as evidence of lived experience. In the studio, I assemble these found materials using wire and plaster to create new three-dimensional forms. The resulting sculptures possess a crafted yet utilitarian quality, evoking archaeological relics that gesture toward an earlier moment within the Anthropocene.
